Falling leaf meditation

Imagine…

You are a leaf at the top of a tall maple tree. The autumn sun shines on you, warming the places on your skin where yellow, orange and red has replaced green. The hot summer sun has cooled, yet you feel a comfortable warmth flowing over your head, your shoulders, arms, chest, in your heart, across your stomach, your legs, and down to your feet.

You feel content, and as light as a feather. A quiet breeze caresses your body, a gentle coolness wafts over you and under you, and on a whim, you let go. Let go of the tree.

You float gently on the breeze, under the sun, twirling slowly, gently moving up and down as the breeze quickens and slows… you float in the gently moving river of air with an open heart and no expectations.

Just relax in the breeze, move to and fro, up and down, relax, relax and let go. Let everything go.

Mother earth lies below, ready to embrace you in her arms. You float gently to her and join the community of bright leaves.
